This bargain of a piece fits perfectly in our dining room, which is the first room you walk into in our house. The £80 one we got has four compartments which each fit at least 2x pairs, where as there's a larger version with a little drawer at the top too. Perfect in white, narrow enough to not get in the way but enough to pop a lamp and 'key bowl' on top. And a cat, most likely.

Dining Table - Ikea £180
This table is perfect for our little dining room because it's a nice size as it is, and can be extended into an oblong table big enough to seat at least 6 people (or 12 refugee garden gnomes). The only downside is the finish scratches really easily, but it's nothing that a snazzy tablecover couldn't fix.

Footstool - Ikea £75
Also known as the cat's stool. Matches this amazing winged armchair which I am determined to get as soon as I find the space for it.
Daybed - Ikea £260
This was a brilliant purchase for our spare room, because we wanted a double bed for guests but without taking up the whole room which is also our study. This bed is suitable as a single bed or sofa, until you slide out the bottom panel and it becomes a double - borderline king - sized bed. It also has 3x large drawers to keep all our spare bedding and clean towels in.

Sofa - DFS £349 (Sale)
When we went to DFS the week before moving into the house this sofa had been reduced in the sales and was available to be delivered immediately. In hindsight it is a small sofa, you couldn't fit more than 2 people on it, but for our little living room it works. Just don't fall in the trap of buying any of DFS's add-ons like special insurance (which has so many loopholes you could knit with it) or special slidey feet(?!). The nordic heart cushion was from the treasure trove that is TK Maxx.

Armchair - Made £169
A perfect addition to our living room, this will fit snugly in the corner under the crate shelves next to the fireplace. I've seen similar designs all over the place (including Next, where I've sene a 2x person snuggle seat version), but this is the right shade of grey with slate feet to work with our existing furniture.
